Our Story

Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial Garden

The Erie Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial Garden was founded by Debbie Garcia as a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Gerri Randolph. Gerri's lifelong compassion for animals served as the inspiration behind this meaningful project.

In collaboration with Millcreek Township—who graciously offered to host our pet memorial garden—and Ruth Thompson of The ANNA Shelter, who has dedicated her life to animal rescue, Debbie was able to bring her vision to life. Their combined efforts will create a space where love, remembrance, and healing come together.

Losing a pet can be deeply emotional, particularly for children. Our goal is to provide a peaceful, welcoming place where families can process their grief, celebrate cherished memories, and honor their beloved companions. Through the purchase of a personalized memorial brick, families can create a lasting tribute. For children, finding their pet's name engraved in the garden can be a touching, even joyful experience that helps them understand and accept loss.

This initiative also serves a greater purpose. Proceeds from the sale of memorial bricks, engraved tags, and generous donations will support The ANNA Shelter's vital mission—providing essential medical care, nutritious food, and supplies for rescued animals. Every contribution helps give these animals a second chance at life and the hope of a forever home.

At the heart of the pet memorial garden will be a beautifully designed, colorful version of the symbolic Rainbow Bridge that animals cross when they pass away. This central feature will be surrounded by a memorial brick patio and landscaped garden areas, offering a serene space for reflection.

We are dedicated to making this project a lasting tribute to beloved pets and a meaningful addition to Millcreek Township and surrounding communities. It is also a powerful way to support the ongoing efforts of The ANNA Shelter and improve the lives of rescue animals in need.

Located at Scott Park in Erie, Pennsylvania—a popular summer destination known for Presque Isle and its beaches, Waldameer Amusement Park and Water World —we invite pet owners from across the country to take part, Whether you're memorializing a pet who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge or honoring a cherished companion still by your side, your memorial brick will become part of a special place for generations to visit and remember their beloved pets
